DAEU (Diplôme d’Accès aux Études Universitaires)

The DAEU is a national diploma equivalent to the baccalauréat, and is a real second chance if you have left the school system without the baccalauréat. It enables you to return to higher education, or to sit administrative competitive examinations requiring a Level 4.

Teaching methods

Course duration: two sessions, one from September to June, and one from January to June.

Locations:

DAEU A: Mont Saint Aignan and Évreux
DAEU B: Mont Saint Aignan

Organization: 10 hours of teaching per week for DAEU A and 12 hours for DAEU B.

The calendar

1st session: A and B

  • Information meeting: in June
  • Application deadline: end of August at the latest
  • Placement tests: early September

2nd session: A

  • Information meeting: in November
  • Submission of applications: end of November at the latest
  • Placement tests: early December

Registration conditions

Candidates who do not have the baccalauréat and who have interrupted their initial studies for at least two years and who meet one of the following conditions are admitted to enrol at the University of Rouen Normandie with a view to obtaining this diploma:

  • be at least 23 years old on October1 of the registration year
  • be at least 19 years of age on October1 of the year of registration, and provide proof of two years of full-time or part-time professional activity giving rise to social security contributions

The following are deemed to be professional activities giving rise to social security contributions and for the corresponding duration:

  • any period devoted to raising a child
  • registration with France Travail
  • participation in a vocational training scheme for young people seeking employment or qualifications
  • practicing a high-level sporting activity


Assessment methods

Continuous assessment and final exams (first half of June in Mont-Saint-Aignan).

DAEU modules can be capitalized. The diploma can be obtained over several years (maximum 4 consecutive years).
